Surulia Zoo, situated in Purulia district of West Bengal was established in 1998. Over the years, Surulia Zoo has contributed to biodiversity conservation, awareness generation about wild animals and birds among general public, rescued wild animals. The Zoo has been continuously making developments in the field of animal husbandry, enrichment in enclosures, better health care of animals, education and research. Proper care and hygiene is taken regarding the diet of each and every animal in the Zoo and have developed better veterinary facilities for the upkeep of animals. The staff of the Zoo keep a close watch on the sanitation, hygiene of the place and also gives better protection for the animals and birds around the clock.
